The 12-team event will be played April 14-15 at the PSU Blue Course

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University men's golf team will play in the 42nd Annual Rutherford Intercollegiate this weekend, hosted by Penn State University at the par-71, 7,202-yard PSU Blue Course. The tournament will begin Saturday, April 14, and goes through Sunday, April 15.

The Eagles will compete against Binghamton, Cleveland State, Columbia, Dayton, Georgetown, Loyola (Md.), Oakland, Penn State, Rutgers, Seton Hall, and West Virginia.

Eastern Michigan took part in the event last year, as the team finished in a tie for fourth with a team-total of 879 (298-283-298). Kyle Rodes (Plymouth, Mich.-Plymouth) carded a three-round 217 (75-69-73) to finish in eighth-place.

EMU will be paired with the PSU and WVU on the opening day with tee times starting at 8:15 a.m.

The Penn State Blue Course is a par-71 course and covers 7,202 yards. The renovated Blue Course hosted its first major amateur event in 2009, the Big Ten Men's Golf Championship. With the updates and improvements made in 2007, the Blue Course now proudly sits with some of the top courses in the Big Ten. The Blue Course has hosted numerous events conducted by the USGA, FCWT, AJGA, IJGT, PGA Junior Series and the West Penn Golf Association.

No live scoring will be available for the tournament, but complete results will be posted each day on EMUEagles.com.
