KENNESAW, Ga. (EMUEagles.com) – Junior Penelope Guilleux (Saint Maur Des Fosse, France-Arsonval) continued her strong spring with a five-over 149 (76-73) on the opening day of the Henssler Financial Intercollegiate Monday, March 26. Guilleux fired five birdies during the course of the two rounds and is currently tied for 13th-place among 62 individual golfers.
Eastern Michigan University shot a 56-over-par 632 (318-314) and is in 10th overall on the par-72, 6,032 yard at Pinetree Country Club course. No. 19 Kent State University (295-292=587) holds a five stroke edge on No. 40 Ole Miss (297-295=592) atop the leaderboard..
Freshman Preaw Sripatrprasite (Bangkok, Thailand-Siam International) is tied for 37th with a 157 (78-79) while senior Thelma Beck (Baden, France-Lycee Sainte Anne) managed a 162 (82-80) in a tie for 48th. Sophomores Julia Stevenson (Milford, Mich.-Milford) and Maria Connelly (Waterville, Ohio-Anthony Wayne) rounded out the scoring with a 164 (82-82) and a 169 (82-87), respectively.
EMU wraps up the final round of the tournament Tuesday, March 27, beginning at 9 a.m.
