COLUMBUS, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) —
Senior Alli Shereda (Fraser, Mich.-Fraser) and junior Delaney Duncan (Galesburg, Ill.-Galesburg) will represent the Eastern Michigan University women's swimming and diving team at the NCAA Championships at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion on the campus of the Ohio State University, Wednesday-Saturday, March 14-17.

Following a sensational senior campaign, Shereda will make her first NCAA Championships appearance this week as she will compete in the 3-meter dive. The Fraser, Mich. native is the first diver from Eastern to qualify for the NCAA's since 2013 when Kelly Hendricks and Danielle Hulvey did so. At the Zone C Championships, March 9, Shereda finished the competition with a final score of 572.15, good for seventh-place, to keep her season alive.

"Being able to go to NCAA, I'm so overwhelmed with gratitude for my team, coach, and this sport that I love so much," added Shereda. "I never thought I would be able to make it to the NCAAs, and I would not have been able to without all the love and support of my team, coach, and family. I'm so excited to go out and compete my best. I couldn't be more grateful for these past four years, and I couldn't be more grateful for this opportunity that I've work so hard towards."

Duncan returns to the national stage for the third consecutive year to participate in the 100 and 200 breastroke. The junior is the first female swimmer in history to be a three-time NCAA qualifier. The Galesburg, Ill. native qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 100 breast, where she is seeded fourth overall with a time of 58.37. Duncan hit that mark at the 2018 Mid-American Conference Championships, ultimately walking away with her third conference title in the event. In the 200 breast, she looks to improve on her 52nd-ranked time of 2:11.13, which she also clocked at the MAC Championships.

Last season, Duncan secured a top-40 finish with a time of 53.29, good for 38th place. She added a 61st-place finish in the 200, clocking in a time of 2:14.17.

The NCAA Championships begin Wednesday, March 14, while the Eagles will begin competition Friday, March 16.  ESPNU and ESPN3.com will stream the championships finals sessions live on Friday and Saturday, respectively. All the other preliminary session and finals will be streamed on Buckeye Vision.
