McNeill is the first Eagle to earn all-region honors since 2013
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (EMUEagles.com) - On the heels of an outstanding season for the Eastern Michigan University soccer team, redshirt sophomore Sabrina McNeill (Whitby, Ontario-Henry Street) was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Midwest Region Second Team, the organization announced Monday night, Nov. 26. She is the first Eagle to garner all-region honors since Angela Vultaggio and Emily Dzik were third teammers in 2013.
Coming back from a season-ending injury that cut her 2017 campaign short, McNeill turned in a fantastic season for the Green and White, becoming the first Eagle to land on the All-MAC First Team since Ellie Tillar in 2016. The Whitby, Ontario native scored seven goals, four of which were game-winners, while tying for the team-lead with six assists. For the season, McNeill ranked second in the MAC in shots, tied for second in game-winning goals, tied for fourth in shots on goal, tied for ninth in points, and tied for 10th in both goals and assists.
With McNeill leading the way, Eastern Michigan posted its first 10-win season since 2014 and qualified for the Mid-American Conference Tournament for the first time since 2016.
