EMU will have the opportunity to compete on the brand new U-M Indoor Track Building

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) - The Eastern Michigan University men's track and field team continues its indoor season Saturday, Jan. 13, when it competes in the Wolverine Invitational in Ann Arbor, Mich. Located in the University of Michigan's brand-new Indoor Track Building, the meet will be the first held in the world-class facility.

This meet comes over a month after the team competed in the Hoosier Open to kick off its 2017-18 campaign. The Open saw just a handful of Eagles participate, as four distance runners acted as the lone EMU representatives. Redshirt seniors Hlynur Andresson (Vestmannaeyjar, Iceland-Mountain Ridge), Lahsene Bouchikhi (Antwerp, Belgium-Stedelijk Lyceum Paardenmarkt Luchthaven), and Mitch Lenneman (River Falls, Wis.-River Falls), as well as senior Csaba Matko (Racalmas, Hungary-Szechenyi Istvan Gimnazium), all finished within the top-15 in the 5000m. Andresson paced the squad with a seventh-place finish, crossing in 14:11.10.

Live results can be followed using the link given on either of the track and field team schedule pages on EMUEagles.com.

The day will start off with the first field event taking place at 11 a.m., which will be followed by the first track event coming around 11:30a.m. The first track final is scheduled to begin at 12:20 p.m. For more information regarding the invitational, click here.
