YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University men's golf team gets its fall season underway this weekend, Sept. 17-19, at the Golfweek Conference Challenge hosted by the University of Iowa. The invitational will be held on the par-72, 7,112-yard Cedar Rapids Country Club with the Eagles playing one round on each of the three days.

This will be the third time in the past four seasons that EMU has taken part in the event. In 2015-16, EMU finished 11th with a combined total of 882 (292-287-303), while the 2014-15 squad was eighth with a 896 (293-300-303).

There will be 15 teams from 15 different conferences competing at the 2017 Golfweek's Conference Challenge, including: Campbell (Big South), EMU (Mid-American), Furman (Southern), Georgia (Southeastern), Iowa (Big Ten), Lipscomb (Atlantic Sun), Louisiana-Monroe (Sun Belt), McNeese State (Southland), North Carolina State (ACC), Sacramento State (Big Sky), San Francisco (West Coast), San Jose State (Mountain West), Southern Illinois (Missouri Valley), UNC-Wilmington (Colonial), Washington State (Pacific-12).

EMU will tee off of hole No. 1 at 10:42 a.m. CT on Sunday, Sept. 17,. The second around will begain at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 18, while the final round on Tuesday, Sept. 19, is set an 8:30 a.m. CT shotgun start.

The Donald Ross course at Cedar Rapids Country Club is a par-72 stretching 7,112 yards from the tips. Created in 1904 and most recently restored in 2015, the course, is ranked as the best golf course in Eastern Iowa, according to Golf Digest.

Playing this weekend for 25th-year Head Coach Bruce Cunningham will be junior Beau Breault (Hartland, Mich. -Hartland), senior Nic Ross (Dundas, Ontario, Canada-Highland Secondary), sophomore Zach Sudinsky (McKinney, Texas-Boyd-Stephen F. Austin), freshman Cougar Collins (Caledon, Ontario, Canada-Mayfield Secondary), and senior Tyler Lewis (Ortonville, Mich.-Brandon-Mott CC).
