SILVER LAKE, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team completed the second day of the 2017 Mid-American Conference Championship with a score of 323 for a two-day total of 642 (919-323). The tournament is being played on the on the par-72, 6,177-yard course at Silver Lake Country Club.
Junior Thelma Beck (Baden, France-Lycee Sainte Anne) finished Saturday's round with a 77 in a tie for ninth-place with a 152 (75-77). Senior Kelsey Murphy (Plymouth, Mich.-Plymouth) turned her weekend around by shaving off five strokes yesterday's mark to sit in 29th with a 159 (82-778). Sophomore Penelope Guilleux (Saint Maur Des Fosse, France-Arsonval) is in 42nd-place at 164 (79-85) and freshman Maria Connelly (Waterville, Ohio-Anthony Wayne) is tied for 46th with a 167 (83-84).
No. 15 Kent State holds a 19-stroke advantage over Northern Illinois and Ohio after posting an 11-over par 587 through the first 36 holes. Four Golden Flashes sit atop the individual leaderboard with sophomore Michaela Finn leading the way at one-under par 143 (73-70) .
The Eagles will begin the final round tomorrow on the No. 10 tees at 8:50 a.m. Follow live scoring throughout the tournament at Golfstat.com.
