Golf Heads to Pennsylvania for The Rutherford Intercollegiate

The 13-team event will be played April 15-16 at the PSU Blue Course
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University men's golf team will play in the 41st Annual Rutherford Intercollegiate this weekend, hosted by Penn State University at the par-71, 7,202-yard PSU Blue Course. The tournament will begin Saturday, April 15, and goes through Sunday, April 16.
The Eagles will compete against Binghamton, Columbia, Georgetown, Oakland, Ohio, Penn State Rutgers, Seton Hall, Towson, Virginia Commonwealth, West Virginia, and Xavier.
Eastern Michigan took part in the event last year, as the team finished in sixth-place with a team-total of 877 (297-288-292). Beau Breault (Howell, Mich.-Hartland) carded a two-day total of 216 (71-75-70) to finish in 14th.
The Penn State Blue Course is a par-71 course and covers 7,202 yards. The renovated Blue Course hosted its first major amateur event in 2009, the Big Ten Men's Golf Championship. With the updates and improvements made in 2007, the Blue Course now proudly sits with some of the top courses in the Big Ten. The Blue Course has hosted numerous events conducted by the USGA, FCWT, AJGA, IJGT, PGA Junior Series and the West Penn Golf Association.
No live scoring will be available for the tournament, but complete results will be posted each day on EMUEagles.com.
