Men's Golf Finishes Sixth at Little Rock/First Tee College Classic

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (EMUEagles.com) - The Eastern Michigan University men's golf team wrapped up the Little Rock/First Tee College Classic today, March 28, with the final 18 holes. The Eagles finished sixth as a team after shooting a 306 to finish with a three-round total of 891 (295-290-306).
Sophomore Beau Breault (Howell, Mich. - Hartland) had the Eagles' best finish, posting a 76 in his final round to finish in 17th with a 220 (72-72-76), good for four over par. Junior Nic Ross (Dundas, Ontario, Canada - Highland Secondary) concluded the meet in a tie for 29th after carding a 79 on the final day of competition to total a 223 (71-73-79).
Additionally, redshirt senior Jared Multer (Battle Creek, Mich. - Lakeview (Grand Rapids C.C.)) and senior Philippe Weppernig (Lucerne, Switzerland-Kantonsschule Alpenquai Luzern (Owens C.C.)) tied for 41st, each totaling a 226. Multer shot a 75 on his final day, while Weppemig wrapped up with a 76.
Finally, senior Kyle Rodes (Plymouth, Mich. - Plymouth) rounded out EMU's five, tying for 56th after carding a 79 on day two to finish with a 230. As an individual competitor, senior Joey Kremer (Toronto, Ontario, Canada - Senator O'Connor) tied for 71st, posting a 76 to finish with a 238 overall.
Host Little Rock finished atop the podium by 16 strokes, totaling an 856 (289-279-288), while Stephen F. Austin took the silver with an 872 (285-287-300). UT Arlington was able to claim the bronze after carding an 879 (291-291-297), and both Central Arkansas and Lamar tied for fourth with an 883.
Eastern will resume action in two weeks, heading east to the Rutherford Intercollegiate, April 15-16, in University Park, Pa.
