The Eastern Michigan University men's swimming and diving team saw 11 different Eagles turn in career-bests on the final day of competition at the Ohio State University Winter Invitational, Sunday night, Feb. 12. Overall, the Green and White notched seven top-16 finishes, highlighted by four top-eight marks.

Freshmen Benjamin Ryan (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community) and Jacob Ehrman (Saline, Mich.-Saline) posted a pair of career-bests in the 1650 Freestyle to get the Eagles going. Ryan claimed fifth-place with a personal-best time of 16:06.72, clocking in almost four seconds below his preliminary time. Ehrman came in just behind him, shaving nearly 10 seconds off his prelim time to take sixth.

Sophomore Ryan Current (Chanhassen, Minn.-Minnetonka) won the 'B' final in the 200 Freestyle, touching in with a career-best time of 1:40.65 to finish 11th. Current's final time was roughly three seconds faster than his preliminary mark.

The Eagles reeled in another fifth-place finish, this time in the 200 Backstroke where freshman Corey Smith (Lansdale, Pa.) turned in a time of 1:51.46.

In the 200 Breaststroke the senior duo of Conner Finnigan (Indianapolis, Ind.-Warren Central) and Chris Buzard (Venetia, Pa.-Peters Township) wrapped up their careers on a high note. Finnigan claimed 13th-place with a career-best time of 2:02.99, while Buzard also clocked in with a personal-best en route to a 19th-place finish.

EMU secured 19th-22nd-place finishes in the 50 Free, before freshman Matthew Martin (Brecksville, Ohio-Brecksville Broadview Heights) posted a career-best time of 1:52.68 in the 200 Butterfly, ultimately taking eighth.

Freshman Gian Garcia (Jacksonville, Fla.-Creekside) continued the trend in the 200 Individual Medley where he closed out the day. Garcia's finals time of 1:53.28 was more than four seconds fastest than his previous career-best and earned him a 12th-place finish.

EMU heads to the Michigan First Chance Meet next weekend, Feb. 18-19, for a final tune-up before taking part in the Mid-American Conference Championships next month.
