Pat Bradley Invitational Marks Final Fall Event for Eagles

Competition begins Sunday, Oct. 22 and concludes Tuesday, Oct. 24
***UPDATE*** Previously scheduled for three, 18-hole days, the tournament committee got together and looked at the forecast and decided to play 36 on Monday after an 18-hole Sunday opening round.

SARASOTA, Fla. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University women's golf will conclude the fall portion of the schedule at the 40th Annual FIU Pat Bradley Invitational just outside Sarasota, Fla., beginning Sunday, Oct. 22. The tournament is being held at the Lakewood Ranch Golf & Country Club's par-72, 6,288-yard Cypress Lakes Course.
The scoring format will consist of each team fielding five players, with the lowest four scores counting for each round. Eighteen holes will be played on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
There will be 15 teams at the invitational, including: FIU, Boston College, Cincinnati, Eastern Michigan, Florida Atlantic, Florida Gulf Coast, Georgia State, Jacksonville, Kansas City, Morehead State, Southern Miss, South Florida, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Western Kentucky, and Wyoming.
Eastern Michigan took part in the tournament last year, as the team finished the event in seventh-place with a final round 301 after shooting back-to-back 298s on the first two days of competition. Kesley Murphy (Plymouth, Mich.-Plymouth) had a strong outing, shooting a final-round 73 to finish with a three-round total of 217, which put her in a tie for ninth-place. Behind Murphy, Thelma Beck (Baden, France-Lycee Sainte Anne) had a solid third day, matching her first round score with a 75 to finish 24th overall with a total score of 223.
Overall, it marks EMU's fifth appearance in field with previous invitations to play in 1996, 2004, 2011, and 2016.
