UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University men's golf team will play in the Rutherford Intercollegiate this weekend, hosted by Penn State University at the par-71, 7,202-yard PSU Blue Course. The tournament will begin Saturday, April 16, and goes through Sunday, April 17.
The Eagles will compete against Binghamton, Connecticut, Georgetown, Penn State, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Xavier, and Youngstown.
Eastern Michigan took part in the event last year, as the team finished in second-place with a team-total of 876 (285-294-297). Jared Multer and Michael Blair each notched top-five finishes, fishing fourth and fifth, respectively.
The Penn State Blue Course is a par-71 course and covers 7,202 yards. The renovated Blue Course hosted its first major amateur event in 2009, the Big Ten Men's Golf Championship. With the updates and improvements made in 2007, the Blue Course now proudly sits with some of the top courses in the Big Ten. The Blue Course has hosted numerous events conducted by the USGA, FCWT, AJGA, IJGT, PGA Junior Series and the West Penn Golf Association.
No live scoring will be available for the tournament, but complete results will be posted each day on EMUEagles.com.
