COLUMBUS, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University senior Brett White (Caledonia, Mich.-East Kentwood) and freshman Beau Breault (Howell, Mich.-Hartland) turned in top-30 showing, placing in a tie for 28th place at the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate, April 9-10. White carded a 76 in the final round while Breault managed a 74 to finish with a two-day total of 150.

Battling unseasonably cold conditions on the 7,455 yard, par-71 Scarlet Course at the OSU Golf Club, the Eagles finished in 13th place with a team score of 610 (310-300) as No. 31 UNLV took home the invitational hardware with a 586 (289-297). No. 37 UAB and No. 49 Michigan State finished five strokes back with a 591.

Michigan State's Josh Heinze, Maryland's Tom Harris and UNLV's Shintaro Ban finished the second round tied for first with a two-over 144, leading to a three-player playoff. Ban earned individual medalist honors after a four-hole playoff.

Due to inclement weather, the 16-team tournament was shortened from 54 holes to 36 in a decision made by tournament officials earlier in the week. Sunday's early morning weather pushed tee times back to around noon after initially slated to start at 10:30 a.m.

Junior Kyle Rodes (Plymouth, Mich.-Plymouth) gave the Eagles another player among the top 60, after carding a 74 to finish tied for 59th with a 155 (81-74). Junior Philippe Weppernig (Lucerne, Switzerland-Kantonsschule Alpenquai Luzern-Owens C.C.) followed with a 156 (80-76) while Nic Ross (Dundas, Ontario, Canada-Highland Secondary) posted a 157 (80-77) for 67th place.

Next up for the Head Coach Bruce Cunningham and the Eagles is the Rutherford Invitational, April 16-17, in University Park, Pa.
