Women's Golf Returns to Action at William & Mary Intercollegiate

EMU is the defending champion at the event after shooting a 917 last year
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (EMUEagles.com) – Following a two week break from tournament competition, the Eastern Michigan University women's golf team takes to the course at the William & Mary Intercollegiate, March 28-29, in Williamsburg, Va. Hosted by the College of William & Mary, the tournament will be played on the par 72, 6,043-yard River Course at the Kingsmill Resort.
Action begins with 36 holes of play on Monday with the final 18 holes set for Tuesday. All rounds will feature a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
Besides EMU and the host Tribe, other teams in the field include: Bethune-Cookman, Boston University, Deleware, Fairleigh Dickinson, Lehigh, Navy, Northern Illinoins, Penn, Radford, Richmond, Sacred Heart, St. Francis (Pa.), St. John's, Toledo, Towson and Wagner.
Eastern Michigan is the defending champion after shooting a 917 (312-304-301) last year to take home the crown. Sitting in third after day one, the Eagles used a tournament-best 301 in the final round to take the victory. EMU was paced by Lois Schoof, who finished in a tie for fourth, shooting a 228 (74-78-76), while the Green and White recorded one more final top-10 finish as Kelsey Murphy tied for seventh with a 229 (79-75-75).
