Oxford, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) --
Following a weekend of rest from competition, the Eastern Michigan University men's swimming and diving team returns to action, Feb. 6, when it travels to Oxford, Ohio for a Mid-American Conference dual against Miami. Putting its 69-dual win streak on the line, the Eagles will close out the head-to-head portion of their schedule against the RedHawks.

THAT'S 250 FOR HEAD COACH PETER LINN:  Head Coach Peter Linn's 27-year tenure at Eastern Michigan has guided the Eagles to a number of successes over the years. With EMU's sweep of Wayne State,  and the women's win over Akron, Linn recorded his 250th career dual win. His career record on the women's side sits at 64-36 while he owns a 187-58 record at helm for the men. Additionally, the wins move Linn's total coaching record to 251-94,  good for a .727 winning percentage.

MASTERING MIAMI: The RedHawks welcome the Eagles to Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center looking to snag their first dual win of the season. Miami currently holds a record of 0-4 in duals with its latest loss coming at the hands of Buffalo, Jan. 16.
Evan Bader has been a bright spot for Miami this season, specifically in the 200 Breaststroke. In MU's last three meets, Bader has picked up a trio of top-two finishes, highlighted by a first place finish against Cincinnati, Jan. 13 and another at the Arena Pro Series, Dec. 6.

COMPETING AWAY FROM HOME: Saturday's dual marks just the third time the Eagles will compete away from Jones Natatorium this season. With an overall dual record of 4-2, the Green and White hold a 1-1 ledger when competing on the road. With a win Saturday, EMU will wrap up a winning road record for the fifth consecutive season.

RECENT RUN-INS WITH THE REDHAWKS: Miami and Eastern have been mainstays on each others schedules over the years as Mid-American Conference foes. Over the past decade, the Eagles boast an unblemished ledger of 10-0 against the RedHawks, including a 181-108 win last season. In fact, the last time EMU dropped a dual at the hands of Miami was back during the 1995-96 campaign. The RedHawks edged out EMU, 127-114, before the Eagles went on to claim the MAC title a few weeks later.

BREAKING THE 300-POINT BARRIER: For the first time this season, three different Eagles broke the 300-point barrier in both diving events. Junior Brendan O'Shea paved the way for the Eagles' success, turning in two career-bests. On the 3-meter, O'Shea finished runner-up with a score of 356.26 before winning the 1-meter with a score of 315.60. Sophomore Peter Rusenas posted the high score of the day, registering a 356.63 on his way to winning the 3-meter before claiming third in the 1-meter with a score of 306.30. Rounding out the trio, freshman Tom Gillis recorded scores of 333.53 and 309.45 in the 3-meter and 1-meter, respectively. O'Shea and Rusenas became the first EMU divers to break the 350-mark in the same meet this season, doing so in the 3-meter.

EAGLES DOMINATE EN ROUTE TO WIN OVER WARRIORS: Eastern Michigan won all but one event against Wayne State University, Jan. 22, to claim a 155-67 victory. A sweep on the springboard, highlighted by a pair of career-bests for junior Brendan O'Shea, and solid senior day performances by Andrew Henry and Chris Hodges paced the Eagles. Henry began his day with a win in the 200 Individual Medley before winning the 100 Freestyle. Hodges recorded his fourth consecutive win in the 100 Breaststroke to close out  individual events.

KEEPING THE STREAK ALIVE:  With a 168-118 win over the Ball State Cardinals, Jan. 16, the Eagles moved their Mid-American Conference dual streak to 69 straight wins. The Green and White's next clash with a conference opponent comes this weekend, on the road against Miami.

ON THE HORIZON: Next up for the Eagles is the final regular-season comeptition of the year, the Ohio State Invitational, Feb. 13-14. Eastern Michigan's trip to the Buckeye State is followed up by a lengthy break before playing host to the Mid-American Conference Championships, March 2-5.
