Men’s Golf Team Swings Into Action At Sports Authority Intercollegiate

MOBILE, Ala. (EMUEagles.com) – With a spring match already in the books, the Eastern Michigan University men's golf team will begin the tournament play portion of its spring schedule beginning Monday, Feb. 22, at the Mobile Sports Authority Intercollegiate hosted by the University of South Alabama at the Magnolia Grove Crossings Course.
The two-day event will begin Monday with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. CT, and teams will play two rounds on the first day of competition. Final round action on Tuesday, Feb. 23, will begin at 8 a.m. CT, on the par 72, 7,212-yard Robert Trent Jones designed course that was recently named one of the "Top 50 Public Courses" by Golf World Magazine readers.
EMU will face off against No. 2 Wake Forest and No. 4 Auburn, as well as Chattanooga, Georgia State, Illinois State, Kansas State, Louisiana-Lafayette, Mercer, Middle Tennessee, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Southern Mississippi Texas State and host South Alabama.
The Eagles lineup will consist of Brett White (Caledonia, Mich.-East Kentwood), Nic Ross (Dundas, Ontario, Canada-Highland Secondary), Kyle Rodes (Plymouth, Mich.-Plymouth), Philippe Weppernig (Lucerne, Switzerland=Kantonsschule Alpenquai Luzern-Owens C.C.) and Beau Breault (Howell, Mich.-Hartland).
