Pat Bradley Invitational Marks Final Fall Event for Eagles

SARASOTA, Fla. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University women's golf will conclude the fall season at the 39th annual FIU Pat Bradley Invitational at Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club just outside Sarasota, Fla., beginning Sunday, Oct. 23. The tournament is being held at the Lakewood Ranch Golf & Country Club's par-72, 6,288-yard Cypress Lakes Course.
The scoring format will consist of each team fielding five players, with the lowest four scores counting for each round. Eighteen holes will be played on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
Set to compete in the team of five are senior Kelsey Murphy (Plymouth, Mich.-Plymouth), junior Thelma Beck (Baden, France-Lycee Sainte Anne), sophomore Penelope Guilleux (Saint Maur Des Fosse, France-Arsonval), sophomore Kritsuda Apiwatthanadol (Bangkok, Thailand-Somtawin Witead Suska Huaymongkhon School), and freshman Maria Connelly (Waterville, Ohio-Anthony Wayne).
Eastern Michigan has not taken part in the tournament since the 2011-12 campaign when the squad finished as the runner-up behind the host Panthers with a three-round tally of 895 (302-292-301). Meredith Fairbairn led the way for the Eagles, firing a four-over par 220 (72-73-75) to finish tied for fourth place.
The Eagles are ranked No. 149 in Golfstat's computer rankings and will be competing against a 15-team field that includes a pair of Top 100 squads in No. 8 Florida and No. 96 Jacksonville. Also participating in the tourney are Florida Atlantic, FGCU, FIU, Georgia State, UMKC, Marshall, Memphis, Morehead State, Southern Mississippi, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Toledo and Western Kentucky.
