Complete Schedule of Events
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University's men's track and field team will remain in-state for the weekend's competition, taking on the field at the 49th Annual Hillsdale College Gina Relays, Friday and Saturday, April 24-25.
The Hillsdale Gina Relays, held at Ken Herrick Outdoor Track, is a large annual meet that attracts over 1,000 athletes to Hillsdale, Mich. The meet was renamed in honor of former Hillsdale standout and NAIA cross country champion Gina Van Laar, who tragically passed away in an auto accident in 1996.
Friday's events will kick off on the track with the 110m hurdles at 2:10 p.m., with the running events concluding at 9:45 p.m. with the 10,000m championship race. On the field, the hammer throw will start things off on Friday at noon, and the long jump, shot put, high jump, and pole vault championship will also be contested throughout the afternoon. Saturday will feature a field-concentrated slate starting with the triple jump and javelin throw at 10 a.m., which will be followed by the discus throw and open pole vault. On the track, the 1500m will start at 1:40 p.m., followed by the 110m hurdles championship at 2:25 p.m. and the 800m championship at 3:20 p.m.
