MAC Announces 2014-15 Women's Basketball Academic All-MAC Team

Sophomore Phillis Webb earned the honor for the first-time in her career
CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced Monday, the 2015 Women's Basketball Academic All-MAC Team. A total of 27 student-athletes were named to the team from this past season.
Seniors Sina King of Akron, Shelbie Justice of Ball State, Erica Fullenkamp and Deborah Hoekstra of Bowling Green, Kristen Sharkey of Buffalo, Kerby Tamm of Central Michigan, Mikell Chinn and CiCi Shannon of Kent State, Courtney Larson of Miami, Amanda Corral, Alex Dumoulin, Danny Pulliam and Jenna Thorp of Northern Illinois, Mariah Byard of Ohio and Inma Zanoguera of Toledo each received the honors in their final season.
Bowling Green's Erica Fullenkamp and Deborah Hoekstra, as well as Amanda Corral of Northern Illinois each finished their careers with a 4.0 GPA.
Other notable Academic All-MAC members include All-MAC third teamers Hannah Playbon of Akron and Mackenzie Loesing of Buffalo, and All-MAC honorable mention Brenae Harris of Toledo. In addition honorable mention, Loesing was named the 2014-15 Mid-American Conference Sixth Player of the Year.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
