Both student-athletes earned the award for the first time

CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) -- The Mid-American Conference announced its annual academic awards with Sisi Eleko and Brooklyn Thrash earning Academic All-MAC honors, the league announced, April 2.

The award marks their first Academic All-MAC selections and second overall academic honors after both were named to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference All-Academic Team for the 2023–24 season. The two awards bring the program up to 44 total academic awards from the MAC.

The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport. Student-athletes in their first year at an institution, such as freshmen and transfers, are not eligible for the award.

Eleko (Montreal, Quebec/New Hope Academy/Canisius), who also recently achieved All-MAC Second Team honors for the second consecutive season, appeared in 28 of 29 games in 2025-26 and was in the starting lineup 27 times. The senior post player averaged a team high in points (17.6 - second in the MAC) and rebounds (9.9 - first in the MAC), she also added 1.6 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.3 blocks per game. Eleko averaged 33.3 minutes per game and shot 48.5% with a team-leading 492 points on the year. Eleko finished just eight points off of 1,000 in her Eagle career and tied the program record for double-doubles in a career with 31 with a MAC high 17 coming this season. Eleko slotted sixth in the MAC in both field-goal percentage (48.5%) and free-throw percentage (78.6%). She was the only MAC player to rank in the top two in points and one of rebounds or assists per game. Eleko is graduating in the spring of 2026 with a bachelor's in psychology with a minor in criminology and criminal justice.

Thrash (Wayne, Ohio/Elmwood/Canisius), was one of two players that started all 29 this season for the Eagles, and the only Eagle to play in every game of the last two seasons. The senior averaged 32.5 minutes per game with 7.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, 0.9 assist, 1.0 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game. The 2025-26 season saw an increase in nearly every statistic for Thrash except for turnovers. Her 229 points placed her fourth on the team this season and is a 31-point increase from the 198 she scored the previous season. Over 36% of Thrash's rebounds this season were offensive and she totaled the second most offensive rebounds on the team. Despite playing 69 more minutes, Thrash dropped her amount of total turnovers by five from this season to last. Thrash is graduating in the spring of 2026 with a bachelor's in exercise science.
