Eagles Move Up Three Spot After Second Day of FAU Slomin Autism Invite

LAKE WORTH, Fla. (EMUEagles.com) - Eastern Michigan University's men's golf team wrapped up the second day of participation in the Florida Atlantic University Slomin Autism Championship in 12th out of 20 competing teams. The Eagles carded a 296 on the day at the par 71, 6,876 yard Fountains Country Club North Course and have a two-day total of 595 (299-296).

Nicholas Ross (Dundas, Ontario, Canada-Highland Secondary) has taken over as the team leader, shooting a team-best 71 to move him up 34 spots in the standings, as the freshman is currently tied for 38th after carding a 36-hole total of six-over par 148 (77-71). Senior Michael Blair (Ancaster, Ontario, Canada-Nelson-Pfeiffer) and sophomore Kyle Rodes (Plymouth, Mich.-Plymouth) are tied for 51st-place at 150.

Not far behind, junior Jared Multer (Battle Creek, Mich.-Lakeview-Grand Rapids C.C.) shot a 79 in today's round, totaling a nine-over par 151 (72-79) thus far. Brett White (Caledonia, Mich.-East Kentwood) managed rounds of 76 and 77 for a 153 in a tie for 76th.

UCF continues to hold down the top spot with a 572 (279-293) followed by five-way tie for second between Florida Atlantic, East Carolina, Florida Gulf Coast, Connecticut and Northern Illinois.

The 54-hole event will conclude tomorrow, March 28, at 8 a.m. with the Eagles on the first hole. Live results can be found at golfstat.com.
