Rowing Set For 33rd Annual Murphy Cup

After a month break from action, the Eagles will head to Pennkauken, N.J. for the Murphy Cup Saturday, March 28

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- The Eastern Michigan University women's rowing team will head to Pennsauken, N.J. to take part in the 33rd Annual Murphy Cup, hosted by Temple University Saturday March 28 - Sunday, March 29.
The Eagles will race three boats in the annual event with one Varsity Eight boat, one Novice Eight boat and a Varsity Four boat.
First, the Green and White's Varsity 4+ boat will race on Saturday, March 28. The boat will consist of Spencer Sturgis, Emily Burks, Samantha Allen, Autumn Little and Elizabeth Caudill. Directly following the V4+ race, the Novice 8+ will race with Savannah Theisen leading the boat as the coxswain. Along with Theisen, Ann Kossey, Lindsay Davis-Brady, Rachel Turner, Amanda Rabb, Annie MIller, Samantha Higgins, Hannah Phillips and Hailey Welch will all take part in their first officials races as members of the EMU rowing team.
Finally, the Eagles's Varsity 8+ boat will close out the day for Eastern Michigan. Coxwained by Tauan Jeffrey, the boat wil look to make improvements on its scrimmage against Clemson. Along with Jeffrey, the boat will consist of Caitlyn Maguire, Steph Schlosser, Sidney Doss, Christine Grilliot, Krista Burdick, Lyndsey Tollas, Ashley Gilmore and Emily Kent.
