EMU OPENS HOME CAMPAIGN AGAINST NORTH DAKOTA: The Eastern Michigan University softball team starts its 2015 home season Wednesday, March 18 when it takes on the University of North Dakota in a doubleheader affair. First pitch from Varsity Field is slated for 1 p.m. with game two starting at approximately 3 p.m.

ALL-TIME SERIES: The doubleheader against North Dakota will mark the second time this season that the Eagles and UND will square off. North Dakota holds a 1-0 advantage over the Eagles in 2015, while the all-time series is tied at 1-1 with an EMU victory in the 2014 campaign.

GREEN AND WHITE EARNS SPLIT AGAINST ETSU: The Eastern Michigan University softball team split with East Tennessee State University in a doubleheader Sunday, March 15. Between the two games, there were seven home runs, while the Eagles (6-9) out-hit ETSU 13-6 in the second game. EMU was led by Haley Hostetler and Michelle Kriegshauser, who each had three hits in game two, driving in three and two RBI, respectively.

HOSTETLER HAS BIG GAME AGAINST THE BUCS: Freshman Haley Hostetler had a breakout weekend for the Green and White in its victory over ETSU Sunday, March 15. The freshman shortstop went 3-for-3 at the plate in game two, scoring one run and driving in three runs for the Eagles. For the day, the freshman launched one home run and one double for EMU. Hostetler's home run brought in two runs in the eighth inning for the Green and White to secure the 7-4 victory over ETSU.

TRUJILLO PICKS UP FIRST COLLEGIATE WIN AT ETSU: Freshman Trisha Trujillo pitched her second complete game for the Green and White, tossing eight innings against ETSU Sunday, March 15. The freshman hurler went the distance, pitching 3.1 perfect innings before giving up a hit, earning her first collegiate victory. Trujillo gave up just six hits in the eight inning contest and allowed three earned runs for a 2.62 ERA in the contest, while striking out three.

LUCAS MAKING A STATEMENT AT THE PLATE IN FINAL SEASON: Senior Jenn Lucas has been a leader at the dish in her final season donning the Green and White, posting a team-best .364 batting average through the first 15 games. Lucas has tallied 16 hits this season, which ranks second on the team, while her six RBI ties for third on the team.
    The Pinckney, Mich. native carries a .523 slugging percentage and has scored four times for the Green and White in the 2015 season. Furthermore, Lucas has laced a team-high four doubles. This past weekend, Lucas went 3-for-3 at the plate in game one against ETSU with one double and one run for the Eagles.

A PEEK AT NORTH DAKOTA: Since the Eagles last met North Dakota on the field, UND has posted a 6-18 overall record, falling in its last three contests.
    Despite its losses, UND has proven that it is a tough team to beat and have powerful bats throughout the lineup. Four North Dakota hitters come into Wednesday's contest with a .300 or better batting average, while Jackie Lilek paces the team hitting at a .412 clip with 21 hits. Freshman Shelby Hard has had an outstanding season for UND with a team-best 21 hits, including nine home runs, five doubles and 21 RBI. Furthermore, Hard has scored 17 times and carries a .829 slugging percentange with a .423 on-base percentage. Junior Emily Bell is just one RBI shy of 20 and has laced 21 hits in the 2015 campaign with a .328 batting average, while Maria Dendinger has notched 23 hits and 10 RBI for UND.
    North Dakota's bats will need to stay strong as its pitching staff holds a team ERA of 8.38 with Hannah Bergh carrying a team-best 6.57 ERA in 17 appearances and 11 starts. The freshman hurler has tossed three complete games and compiled a 4-7 record in the 2015 season, while Michaela Zins has made 16 appearances and 10 starts for North Dakota with a 1-8 overall record.

ON DECK: Eastern Michigan will go back on the road Friday, March 20 when it heads to Lawrence, Kan. for the Kansas Tournament. The Eagles will first take on host Kansas Friday, March 20 at 1 p.m. before concluding the tournament with games against Georgia State and UMKC
