Two Eagles Qualify to Finals on 1-meter Dive at NCAA Zone C Championships

COLUMBUS, Ohio (EMUEagles.com)—Eastern Michigan University's men's diving team wrapped up the first day of competition of the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships, competing on the 1-meter springboard.
Two Eagles qualified to the finals round, with Dan Gironza (South Lyon, Mich.-South Lyon) leading the way with 623.80 points for 14th after scoring 320 points in the prelims. Also making it into the finals was Alex Chan (Toronto, Ontario-Neil McNeil Catholic), who took 16th with 606.50 points. In the prelims, Sage Stephens (Warren, Ill.-Warren) placed 21st with 286.80 points, followed by Dakoda Johnson (Greenwood, Ind.-Center Grove) with 259.95 points for 30th and Peter Rusenas (Naperville, Ill.-Naperville Central) in 36th with 231.15 points.
The divers will return to action tomorrow, March 13, to compete on the 3-meter springboard at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion at the Ohio State University. Live results will be provided through divemeets.com.
