Two Women's Cross Country Harriers Selected as All-Region Honorees

Bogdanova and McDermitt both earn the honor in their final race of the season
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Based on their performances at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional, Nov. 13, junior Alsu Bogdanova (Kazan, Russia - Lyceum #83) and sophomore Jordann McDermitt (Davison, Mich. - Davison) were selected as All-Region Honorees.
Bogdanova led the Eagles at the event, as she crossed the finish line in 20:50.3, which was good for ninth-place. Additionally, McDermitt posted a time of 21:01.0 and took 19th. Last season, McDermitt finished 36th at the event, marking an improvement of 17 places.
At the 2014 Regionals, Victoria Voronko and senior Sofie Gallein (Gits, Belgium - Univ. of Leuven) were the top-two Eagle finishers, as they placed 10th and 11th, respectively.
As the Eagles did not receive an at-large bid as a team and did not have any individuals chosen, their season has come to a close. Although they did not qualify to the NCAA Championships, the team had an incredible season, as they took home their first Mid-American Conference title in program history.
