HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, Ark. (EMUEagles.com) – Sophomore Thelma Beck (Baden, France-Lycee Sainte Anne) is tied for third place after a one-under 71 in the opening round of the Little Rock Women's Golf Classic on the par-72, 6,167-yard layout at Diamante Country Club. Eastern Michigan is tied for seventh and nine shots off the pace after a team score of 304 in Sunday's opening round.
Houston Baptist and Central Arkansas are tied for the lead after matching team scores of 295 on Sunday, Nov. 1. Oral Roberts is alone in third place and two shots off the pace following a 297 in round one. Wichita State is tied with host Little Rock for fourth place at 301.
The Trojans' Stina Resen is tied for the lead with Central Arkansas' Emma Svensson at three-under par after 18 holes of play. EMUs Beck and UCA's Fernanda Lira are tied for third place at one-under par. Three more players are tied for fifth place at even par.
Freshman Kritsuda Apiwatthanadol (Bangkok, Thailand-Somtawin Witead Suska Huaymongkhon School) and redshirt senior Lauren Stephens (Dublin, Ohio-Coffman-Toledo) are tied for 32nd place after a five-over 77. Redshirt senior Karyn Lee Ping (Brampton, Ontario, Canada-St. Augustine Secondary School) turned in a score 79 while junior Kelsey Murphy (Plymouth, Mich.-Plymouth) carded an 80 in round one.
Play will resume with tee times at 9 a.m. CT on Monday, Nov. 2.
