YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team will get an early look at the site of next spring's Mid-American Conference Championships when the Eagles host The 2015 Preview, Oct. 11-12, in Noblesville, Ind.

This year's three-round event will feature 54 holes on a par-72, 6,275-yard layout at Purgatory Golf Club. The tournament will begin Sunday at 8:30  a.m. It will be a shotgun start on Oct. 11 followed immediately by a second round. Monday's final round will also be a shotgun start at 9 a.m.

Results will be available at Golfstat.com as well as at the conclusion of each day at EMUEagles.com.

The 13-team field includes nine MAC schools: Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Northern Illinois, Ohio, Toledo and Western Michigan.

Cleveland State, Illinois-Chicago, Indiana State and Youngstown State will also be competing at the event.

Scheduled to compete for the Green and White are junior Kelsey Murphy (Plymouth, Mich.-Plymouth), sophomore Thelma Beck (Baden, France-Lycee Sainte Anne), redshirt senior Karyn Lee Ping (Brampton, Ontario, Canada-St. Augustine Secondary School), freshman Penelope Guilleux (Saint Maur Des Fosse, France-Arsonval) and redshirt senior Lauren Stephens (Dublin, Ohio-Coffman-Toledo). Playing as an individual and making her EMU debut will be redshirt junior Essence Biggs (Beverly Hills, Mich.-Birmingham Seaholm-Seminole State).

The tournament is being held for the first time since 2013. That year, Toledo captured the team title with a 611(304-307) to finish seven-stroke ahead of host BSU (311-307) on the Hawthorns Golf & Country Club course in Fishers, Ind. EMU and Eastern Kentucky (323-309=632) tied for third place, while the Cardinals' Jenna Hague claimed a two-shot win over UT's Manisa Isavas.

The event is the first hosted by Eastern Michigan since the 2007 MAC Championships at Longaberger Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio, April 27-29.
