YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University men's golf team makes the trip to Carmel, Ind., this weekend to compete with some high caliber teams on a major championship course at the Crooked Stick Intercollegiate.
Hosted by Indiana, the Crooked Stick Intercollegiate begins Monday, Oct. 12, and is the final tournament remaining on EMU's fall schedule.
The field for this week's tournament includes a trio of Big Ten teams -- Indiana, Illinois and Purdue -- and two ACC teams -- Duke and Notre Dame. Ball State, IUPUI, Kentucky, Northern Illinois, Toledo and Xavier are also competing.
Crooked Stick Golf Club, a Pete Dye-designed course, has hosted prestigious amateur events in addition to a PGA Championship, a U.S. Senior Open and a Solheim Cup. It hosted the 2012 BMW Championship as part of the PGA Tour's FedEx Cup Playoffs.
The two-day, 54-hole Crooked Stick Intercollegiate features two rounds Monday and the final round Tuesday. The action begins Monday with a 9 a.m. shotgun start, and live scoring is available at golfstat.com.
