Darkness Suspends Round Two of Blue Raider Invitational

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (EMUEagles.com) – Sophomore Thelma Beck (Baden, France-Lycee Sainte Anne) tallied a 74 in the opening round Monday, Oct. 19, of the Blue Raider Invitational at the Old Fort Golf Club. As a team, the Eastern Michigan University golf team is in the middle of pack at the 17-team event after one day of play. Darkness fell before all groups could complete the scheduled 36 holes; the second round will be completed Tuesday, Oct. 20, morning.

EMU concluded the opening 18 holes with a 315, 17 strokes behind host Middle Tennessee State which sat atop the leaderboard. In the second round, the Eagles continued their solid play when play was suspended due to darkness. MTSU still leads the field by 25 strokes at 13-over par.

Play will resume at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday for the field to complete the second round. After a short break for course maintenance, the third round is expected to begin at approximately 9:15 a.m.
