ZIONSVILLE, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University junior Brett White (Caledonia, Mich.-East Kentwood) recorded the first top-five finish of his collegiate career with a third place showing at Wolf Run Intercollegiate Sunday, Sept. 21, at the par-71, 7,155 yard Wolf Run Golf Course. White carded a 54-hole total of four-over-par 217 (75-71-71) and anchored the Eagles (297-313-310=920) to a 10th-place team finish.
White fired Eastern Michigan's lowest final round score and his second consecutive round of 71. During the two-day event, he tallied 12 birdies as he finished with a par three scoring average of 2.92. White finished eight strokes behind medalist Brian Campbell (70-69-70=209) of Illinois.
Senior Michael Blair (Ancaster, Ontario, Canada-Nelson-Pfeiffer) (74-80-80=234) and junior Jared Multer (Battle Creek, Mich.-Lakeview-Grand Rapids C.C.) (71-82-81=234) finished tied for 52nd place. Sophomore Kyle Rodes (Plymouth, Mich.-Plymouth) (77-80-78=235) finished one back of duo to tie for 58th.
Sophomore Joey Kremer (Toronto, Ontario, Canada-Senator O'Connor) (83-84-85=252 ) shot an 85 to finish in a tie 83rd place in the play-five-count-four tournament format.
Illinois (285-287-287=859) earned a wire-to-wire team victory by a 30-stroke margin.
Eastern Michigan takes a week off before returning to action Monday, Oct. 6, at Firestone Intercollegiate. The two-day event concludes Tuesday, Oct. 7, at Firestone Country Club near the University of Akron campus.
