Men's Golf Set for GolfWeek's Conference Challenge

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- The Eastern Michigan University men's golf team continues its fall season, Sept. 14-16, as it heads to Burlington, Iowa for Golfweek's Conference Challenge, hosted by the University of Iowa. The invitational will be held on the par-72, 7,222-yard Spirit Hollow Golf Course with the Eagles playing one round on each of the three days.
This will be the first time the Green and White has taken part in the event since the 2010-11 season, when EMU finished 13th with a three-round total of 890 (298-288-304).
There will be 12 teams from 12 different conferences competing at the 2014 Golfweek's Conference Challenge, including: Eastern Michigan, Iowa, Austin Peay, Lousiana State, Oregon State, Richmond, San Jose Sate, Southeastern Louisiana, Southern Methodist, Texas State, Texas El Paso, and Xavier.
EMU will tee off at 9 a.m. on both Sunday, Sept. 14, and Monday, Sept. 15, while the final round on Tuesday, Sept. 16, is set an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
The Eagles will look to improve upon their sixth-place finish at the Wolverine Intercollegiate, while sophomores Kyle Rodes (Plymouth, Mich.-Plymouth) and Joey Kremer (Toronto, Ontario, Canada-Senator O'Connor) hope to pace the Green and White for their second-straight showing after tying for 15th overall in Ann Arbor, Sept. 6-7.
