The Eastern Michigan University men's golf team makes its first appearance in Ohio State University's Robert Kepler Intercollegiate since 2012 when it travels to Columbus, Ohio, this weekend. The 54-hole event will consist of 36 holes on Saturday, April 12, and 18 holes on Sunday, April 13, at the par-71, 7,455-yard OSU Golf Club's Scarlet Course.

EMU will be competing against a field that includes three other Mid-American Conference members (Ball State, Kent State and Miami) as well as Charlotte, Cleveland State, Georgia Tech, Liberty, Missouri, Northwestern, Oregon State, Penn State, UAB, UNLV  and the host Buckeyes.

Senior Brian Churchill-Smith (Oakville, Ontario, Canada-Oakville Trafalgar) is the only active EMU student-athlete to have played a collegiate tournament on the fabled Scarlet Course. The Oakville, Ontario native placed 35th in the 2012 event with a two-day total of 232 (76-77-79), as EMU finished in 14th place in the team standings. He also tied for 20th in 2011 with a 221 (74-75-72).

During the 2010 campaign, the Eagles shot a 296 in the final round to capture the 41st Annual Robert Kepler Intercollegiate championship with a 54-hole total of 861 (287-288-286). EMU's two-day, three-round mark shattered the event's previous three-round record of 863 set by Ohio State during the 1998 tournament.
