Four Eagle golfers are in the top-20 in the field of 140 golfers

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University men's golf team shot a 286 in the second round of the Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate Monday, March 24. The Eagles sit in second-place with a 574 (288-286) on the Kingsmill Resort River Course, just eight strokes behind field leader No. 50 Texas Tech.
After the completion of round two, four Eagle golfers are in the top-20 in the field of 140 golfers, while Michael Blair (Ancaster, Ontario, Canada-Nelson Pfeiffer) continues to lead all EMU golfers as he is tied for eighth overall.
Senior Brian Churchill-Smith (Oakville, Ontario, Canada-Oakville Trafalger) paced the Green and White in the second round, shooting an even 70 with six birdies and ties for 14th overall with a 144 (74-70), while Blair followed up his career performance with a 72 to total a 142 (70-72) through the first two rounds of action.
Sophomore Brett White (Caledonia, Mich.-East Kentwood) is tied for 12th overall after shooting a 143 (71-72), while freshman Kyle Rodes (Plymouth, Mich.-Plymouth) rounds out the top-20 list for Eastern with a 145 (73-73) after two rounds of play.
Freshman Joey Kremer (Toronto, Ontario, Canada-Senator O'Connor) matched his score from yesterday with a 77 and sits in a tie for 83rd overall with a 154 (77-77).
The final round of play is set to continue Tuesday, March 25, with a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m. ET. Live scoring will be available via Golfstat Live Scoring.
