ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (EMUEagles.com)--Eastern Michigan University's men's track and field team member Max Babits (Howell, Mich.-Fowlerville) earned First Team All-American honors Saturday, March 15, when he took fifth in the pole vault competition at the 2014 NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships.
Babits vaulted a height of 5.45 meters/17 feet 10.50-inches to take fifth overall. The senior was one-of-two representatives from the Mid-American Conference in the event, the other being NCAA Champion Shawn Barber of the University of Akron.
Babits will resume competition on the outdoor field along with the rest of the Eagle squad. The team will make the short trek to Toledo, Ohio for the Toledo Invite Saturday, March 29.
