YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University's men's and women's swimming and diving programs will make the short trip to Rochester, Mich. for a Saturday matinee meet, Nov. 8. The men will take on host Oakland University, while the women will add a Mid-American Conference dual with Bowling Green to the meet against the Golden Grizzlies.
The men have had a good history against Oakland, boasting a 23-8 all-time advantage over the Golden Grizzlies, including an 11-meet winning streak between the 1995-2008 seasons. After going through a three-dual losing skid in years past, the Eagles broke through with a 193-103 decision last year in Jones Natatorium, Nov. 9.
EMU's women's squad is on a roll this season, downing opponents by an average margin of victory of 110 points. All-time against Oakland, the Eagles are 16-16 after equalizing the record with a 168-125 victory last season, Nov. 9. Meanwhile, the Green and White has been more dominant against the Falcons, holding a 22-15 all-time record. More notable is the fact that the Eagles are currently riding a 17-dual meet winning streak against Bowling Green. Last year, the team was able to keep the streak alive with a 166-126 victory, Oct. 26.
Action is slated to start at 1 p.m. at the Oakland Aquatics Center in Rochester, Mich.
