Women's Golf Sits in 10th After Day Two of Nittany Lion Invitational

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team moved up one spot after day two of the Nittany Lion Invitational, tying for 10th overall with a score of 622 (313-309) at the PSU Golf Course Saturday, Oct. 4. Columbia took the lead on day two of the tournament, carding a 301 on day two for an overall score of 598, while Yale is one stroke behind with a 599 (296-303).
Sophomore Kelsey Murphy (Plymouth, Mich.-Plymouth) moved up into a tie for 13th overall after carding a 73 in the second round for an overall score of 150 (77-73), while Karyn Lee Ping (Brampton, Ontario, Canada-St. Augustine Secondary School) shot a matching 73 to tie for 18th overall with a two-round score of 151 (78-73).
Redshirt-junior Lauren Stephens (Dublin, Ohio-Coffman-Toledo) and freshman Kylie Raines (Dublin, Ohio-Dublin Coffman) carded a total 161 through two-rounds after shooting an 82 and an 81 on day two, respectively.
The tournament is setup with six golfers per team with counting the lowest four scores for each team.
The Green and White return to action Sunday, Oct. 5 at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start.
