Men's Golf Closes Out The Fall at Sagamore Preview

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University men's golf team wraps up the fall portion of the 2014-15 schedule at the Sagamore Fall Preview in Noblesville, Ind. Head Coach Bruce Cunningham and his team hope to make a return appearance to the location in the spring, as the course will be the site of 2015 NCAA Noblesville Regional.
The 54-hole event begins Monday, Oct. 13, at the Jack Nicklaus-designed Sagamore Club. Ball State University, the Hamilton County Sports Authority and The Sagamore Club will host one of the six 2015 NCAA Men's Golf Regionals in the spring. The Noblesville Regional will be contested May 14-16 with the top five teams advancing to the NCAA Finals.
Five of the nation's top-50 teams will compete in the Sagamore Fall Preview, including No. 1-ranked Illinois and No. 8 Auburn. Eastern Michigan is one-of-five Mid-American Conference programs in the 14-team tournament. The field also includes No. 34 UAB, No. 48 Louisville, No. 49 Purdue, Akron, Indiana, FGCU, Kansas, Northern Illinois, Toledo and Xavier.
The action begins Monday with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. The teams will play 36 holes on the opening day and then complete the tournament Tuesday with the final 18 holes. Live scoring throughout the event is available at golfstat.com.
Eastern Michigan's lineup for the week will feature junior Brett White (Caledonia, Mich.-East Kentwood), senior Michael Blair (Ancaster, Ontario, Canada-Nelson-Pfeiffer), freshman Nicholas Ross (Dundas, Ontario, Canada-Highland Secondary), junior Jared Multer (Battle Creek, Mich.-Lakeview-Grand Rapids C.C.) and sophomore Kyle Rodes (Plymouth, Mich.-Plymouth).
