Short Weekend Road Trip Slated for Men's Track and Field

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University's men's track and field team will make the short jaunt to Ann Arbor, Mich. to compete in the Simmons/Harvey Invitational, Saturday, Jan. 18. After winning the EMU Triangular by a margin of 86 points over in-state rivals Detroit and Oakland, the Green and White will aim to perform well in its first road meet of the 2013-14 season.

In addition to host team the University of Michigan, the University of Notre Dame will also be in attendance as well as the previously topped University of Detroit Mercy. Nearby schools Concordia University, Marygrove College, and Siena Heights University will also be competing.

The Jack Harvey Invitational is held annually in honor of Jack Harvey, who led the University of Michigan track and field team for 25 seasons between 1975-1999. The first event will be the shot put, which will take place at 10:30 a.m. on the west side of the Indoor Track Building. Track events are scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. The event will not be scored, but live results can be found through the University of Michigan's website here.

11:00 am: Women's pole vault

11:30 am: Men's and women's long jump

12:00 pm: Men's high jump

1:00 pm Men's and women's triple jump

1:30 pm: Women's high jump

1:30 pm: Women's weight throw

12:30 pm: Men's and women's 60m hurdles trials

12:45 pm: Men's and women's 60m dash trials

12:55 pm: Men's 100m

1:00 pm: Men's mile run, followed by women

1:20 pm: Men's 60 hurdles final, followed by women

1:30 pm: Men's 400m, followed by women

1:45 pm: Men's 600m, followed by women

2:00 pm: Men's 60m dash final, followed by women

2:10 pm: Men's 800m, followed by women

2:25 pm: Men's 200m, followed by women

2:40 pm: Men's 3000m, followed by women

3:00 pm: Men's 4x400m relay, followed by women
