ANN ARBOR, Mich. (EMUEagles.com)—
The Eastern Michigan University men's track and field team was put to the test Saturday, Jan. 18 when it visited the University of Michigan for the Harvey Invitational.  Though the event was not scored, a number of Eagles found success when pitted against institutions such as Michigan and Notre Dame.

Junior Cameron Bolton (Missouri City, Texas-Hightower), who posted the seventh-fastest time in the nation after running a 6.86 in the 60m, finished in third with a time of 6.90 to start the track portion of the afternoon.  Victory came to Mason Waynes (Kenosha, Wisc.-Bradford), who posted a personal-best of 1:21.60 in the 600m.

Two other Eagles bested their own records on the track, as Nick Petro (Erie, Mich.-Monroe) set a PR of 4:24.09 in the mile and pentathlete/decathlete Levi Selvig (Flushing, Mich.-Flushing Community) was the top placer for the Green and White in the 60m hurdles after finishing in 8.34.

On the field, Max Babits (Fowlerville, Mich.-Fowlerville) continued his success in the pole vault, clearing 5.20 meters/17-feet 0.75-inches to claim the winning title in the event.  The senior vaulted nearly one and a half feet higher than the runner-up competitor to take his second victory in as many meets.

One more victory came in the triple jump as Donald Scott (Apopka, Fla.-Apopka) posted a distance of 15.47 meters/50-feet 9.25-inches.  Scott was immediately trailed by Javion Lee (Clinton, Miss.-Clinton) who leapt for 14.02 meters/46-feet to earn a second-place finish.

One member of the Green and White enjoyed a personal-best in the field events, as Travis Harris (Walled Lake, Mich.-Walled Lake Central) threw for 16.19 meters/53-feet 01.50-inches in the shot put, eclipsing his previous record by over three feet.  The sophomore was the highest finisher for EMU, taking fourth.

The Green and White will go on a short hiatus before returning home to Bob Parks Track to host another triangular meet Saturday, Feb. 1.  The Eagles will host their last meet of the 2013-14 season in Bowen Field House.
