The two-day event will take place at the IU Golf Course
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team travels to Bloomington, Ind. for the Indiana Invitational. The two-day event will take place at the IU Golf Course, with two rounds Saturday, April 13, and the final 18 holes slated for Sunday morning, April 14.
There are 15 teams competing in this 54-hole event on the 6,142-yard, par-72 course. Competing with the Green and White this week will be Akron, Ball State, Bradley, Dayton, Drake, Evansville, Illinois State, Indiana, Kansas, Southern Illinois, Toledo and Valparaiso.
Last season at the IU Invitational, Sarah Johnson fired a 75 to lead the Eastern Michigan at the rain-shortened tournament. Due to weather, the tournament was shortened to an 18-hole event, with all but two or three holes played on Sunday.
Originally a 54-hole event, Indiana posted a 298, with Ball State the runner-up at 305. Eastern Michigan was just a stroke back in third (306), followed by Kansas State (307) and IUPUI (310) in the top five. Indiana's Kristtini Cain captured medalist honors at one-over 73 and won a three-hole playoff with teammate Kate Coons, Ball State's Jenna Hague and IUPUI's Lauren Kuss.
Live scoring will not be available but complete results will be available on EMUEagles.com following the conclusion of play.
