Golf to Compete at Boilermaker Invitational

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University men's golf team will travel to West Lafayette, Ind. to compete in the weekend-long Boilermaker Invitational. Play will begin Saturday, April 20, at 8:45 a.m. and continue on through late Sunday, April 21. The first 36 holes are scheduled to be played Saturday, followed by the last 18 on Sunday. Each round will begin with a shotgun start.
The invitational takes place on the par-72 Kampen course, a Pete Dye Design championship golf course at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex. The layout of the links-style course presents a challenge for golfers of all abilities with a variety of sand bunkers, native grasslands and ponds. Kampen is rated one of the top collegiate courses in the nation and has been awarded 4.5 stars on Golf Digest's “Places to Play.”
Teams participating in the tournament include Eastern Michigan, Akron, Chicago State, Cleveland State, Creighton, Drake, Illinois, Iowa, Kent State, Louisville, Loyola, Miami Ohio, Michigan State, Northern Illinois, Toledo, Wichita State and host Purdue.
