Women's Golf to Participate in The MAC Preview

Oct. 7-8 at the Hawthorns Golf and Country Club
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team heads to Fishers, Ind. to participate in the Mid-American Conference Preview, Oct. 7-8, at the Hawthorns Golf and Country Club. Ball State University will host the tournament on the par 72, 6,127-yard track.
The 16-team tournament includes: Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green, Cleveland State, Eastern Kentucky, IPFW, IUPUI, Marshall, Northern Illinois, Oakland, Ohio, Toledo, Valparaiso, Western Illinois and Western Michigan.
The Preview will be a 36-hole event with 18 holes on each day. Play will begin at 9:30 a.m. on both days.
Last year, the Eagles finished with a two-day mark of 625 (321-304) to finish in third place at Longaberger Golf Club course in Nashport, Ohio, Oct. 15-16, 2012. Leading the way for the team was Meredith Fairbairn and Sarah Johnson. Fairbairn finished in second place with a 151 (78-73) and Johnson took eighth with a 154 (80-746), making EMU one of just four teams in the tournament to boast a pair of top 10 finishers.
There will be no live scoring for the tournament, but EMUEagles.com will have complete results posted at the end of each round.
