Men's Golf to Compete at Firestone Invitational

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University men's golf team continues its 2013 fall schedule with the Firestone Invitational Presented by FirstEnergy Solutions, Oct. 7-8, at the Firestone Country Club-North Course.
The 17-team tournament includes: Akron, the College of Charleston, Davidson, Francis Marion, Georgetown, Illinois State, Kansas State, Miami (Ohio), Nebraska, Ohio, Old Dominion, Samford, St. Mary's (Calif.), USC-Aiken, Washington State and Western Kentucky.
The course will be set up as a par 72, playing a distance of 7,125 yards. It will consist of 36 holes on Monday, Oct. 7, and 18 holes Tuesday, Oct. 8. Play will begin at 8:30 a.m. ET on both days, with the second round played immediately following the conclusion of the first round on Monday.
Eastern last completed in the event in 2012, when they finished in ninth place with a 36-hole total of 592 (290-302). Brian Churchill-Smith was the top individual for the Eagles, earning a tie for 17th place with two-over par 146 (73-73).
