Women’s Golf Continues Fall Action at the Hoosier Invitational

Eastern Michigan has just two more events remaining this fall

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team will travel to Greenwood, Ind. for the 2013 Hoosier Fall Invitational, Oct. 19-20, at Hickory Sticks Golf Club. The course will be set at par 71 and 6,062 yards.
Live scoring will be available at www.golfstat.com, and play will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday with the second round following directly afterward. Sunday's final round will start at 8:30 a.m. All rounds will be a shotgun start.
Along with the Eagles, other teams in the tournament field include: Ball State, Boston College, UC Davis, Indiana, Illinois, Illinois State, Louisville, Minnesota, Nebraska, Penn State, Purdue, Rutgers, Toledo and Xavier.
EMU last participated in the event during the 2011-12 campaign, when the Green and White won the tournament, Oct. 17-18. EMU finished the opening round trailing the University of Notre Dame by six strokes. However, by the time all the scores had been recorded on day two, the Eagles had rallied to leapfrog the Fighting Irish to capture the tournament title with a 912 (303-306-303).
EMU finished with four players in the tournament's top 15, including Sarah Johnson capturing third place with a score of 224 (75-75-74).
Competing for EMU will be Kelsey Murphy (Plymouth, Mich.-Plymouth), Sylvie Williams (Christchurch, New Zealand-Christchurch Girls School-Lincoln), Karyn Lee Ping (Brampton, Ontario, Canada-St. Augustine Secondary School), Usanee Laopattananont (Bangplee, Thailand-Thai Christian School) and Rushda Mallick (Cape Town, South Africa-Glenwood House-Cape Peninsula University of Technology). Lois Schoof (Amsterdam, Netherlands-Univ. of Amsterdam) will also be in action as an individual.
