DADE CITY, Fla. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University men's golf team carded a final-round score of 299 to place eighth in the final USF Invitational standings at the Lake Jovita Golf Club South Course Tuesday, March 6.
The Eagles finished the three-day event with a team score of 888 after scores of 296 and 293 in the first two rounds.
UCF won the team title with a total score of 854, finishing six strokes ahead of Georgia. Justin Dorward of Louisville and Chris Pledger of Arkansas State finished tied atop the individual leaderboard with three-round totals of 5-under par 211.
Brian Churchill-Smith (Oakville, Ontario, Canada-Oakville Trafalgar) registered a 75 on Tuesday to give him a team-best 218 (73-70-75) score for the event and place him in a tie for 19th place. It marked his third top 20 showing of the 2011-12 campaign.
The Eagles will be in action March 16-17 when they travel to Laredo, Texas for the Border Olympics.
