HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (EMUEagles.com)— The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team posted a resurgent day two of the UALR Women's Golf Classic Tuesday, March 27, at Diamante Country Club. After residing in eighth place after day one, the Eagles turned in a third-round score of 292 to finish with a total of 899 in a tie for third place with Middle Tennessee State.
Shannon Warner shot a final round 72 to finish fourth. It was her second top-five showing of the season. Karisa Akin from Middle Tennessee State won the tournament with a two-day total of 215.
Sarah Johnson finished second among EMU representatives to tie for 22nd overall with a team-best 70 on day two for a tournament total of 225. Rushda Mallick tied for 49th place with a total of 232, while Meredith Fairbarin earned a 57th place tie with a 233 and Alyssa Kown claimed a tie for 85th after shooting 243.
Texas El Paso earned the team championship after shooting a combined 897.
The Eagles will be back on the course Monday and Tuesday, April 2-3, when they head to Washington D.C. for the Hoya Invitational.
