LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (EMUEagles.com) - Senior Derek East (Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada-St. Paul's-University of New Orleans) is tied for 12th place at four-over par 148 (74-74) to lead the Eagles after two rounds at the UALR/First Tee Collegiate Classic. Southeastern Louisiana carded an even-par 288 in the second round at the par 72, 7,326-yard Bear Den Course at Chenal Country Club and carries a five-shot lead over the 16-team field into Tuesday's final round.
Southeastern Louisiana has two players ranked in the top-four on the individual leader board, and leads the team standings with a seven-over par 583 total (295-288) through 36 holes. Sam Houston State sits five shots back of SLU at 12-over par 588 (292-296), followed by ULM in third place at 18-over par 594 (298-296).
Philipp Westermann (71-71) leads the Lions at two-under par 142, and is in a three-way tie atop the individual leader board along with Sam Houston State's Scott Kelly (69-73) and Missouri State's Will Hogan (74-68). Kelly was tied for first place with Illinois State's Wils Hawn after 18 holes at three-under par 69. Hawn led all players with nine birdies on Monday, while Hogan accounted for the lowest round of the day with his four-under par 68 in the second round.
The Eagles are in sixth place after carding a 601 (297-304).
Tuesday's final round begins with a shotgun start at 8 a.m.
