MUNCIE, Ind. (EMUEagles.com)-
The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team fell to the Cardinals of Ball State, Feb. 17, in Irving Gym, 193.425-192.150. Despite a great performance, the Eagles were unable to capture a win.

After the loss the Eagles fall to 2-6 (1-3 MAC), while the Cardinals improve to 2-4 (1-3 MAC).

Senior Amanda Fuller (Hamilton, Ont.-St Mary's) led the Green and White on the vault finishing in first place tallying a career high 9.800. Freshman Anna Willette (Pylesville, Md.-North Harford) followed closely also recording a career high 9.775 to give her a second place tie. Sophomore Miranda Jarvis (Westminster, Md.-Westminster) posted a fifth place finish earning a 9.625.

Senior Stacie Wood (Brantford, Ont.-Brantford Collegiate Institute) had a standout performance on the uneven parallel bars tallying a 9.675, good for fifth place. Willette and junior Camille Cicchini (Royal Palm Beach, Fla.-Royal Palm Beach Community) performed well recording scores of 9.625 and 9.600, respectfully.

Jarvis and Willette continued to help the Eagles, posting a 9.750, recording a first place tie with BSU's Leah Wilson and Emily Wehrle on the balance beam. The top honor is a career high for both Eagles. Freshman Paulina Miller (Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada-Citadel High School) tallied a 9.675 to earn a fifth place tie for her performance on the balance beam.

Senior Kristen Yourick (Albuquerque, N.M.-La Cueva), Jarvis and Fuller shared runner-up accolades earning a 9.725 on the floor exercise finishing in a seven-way tie for second place. Wood earned a 9.675 to finish in ninth place.

The Eagles are back in action, Feb. 25, traveling to Piscataway, N.J., to compete in the Rutgers Quad. The Green and White will take on host Rutgers, Air Force Academy and Bridgeport. Competition is slated to begin at 7 p.m.
