Jamie Radermacher leads the Eagles to first MAC win

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) - The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team captured its first Mid-American Conference win of the season, Feb. 11, topping Western Michigan, 193.025-192.225 here at Bowen Field House. The Eagles were able to deliver the Broncos their first loss of the season, while also tallying a season high team score.
With the win Eastern advances to 2-5 (1-2 MAC), while Western falls to 5-1 (3-1 MAC).
Freshman Jamie Radermacher (Tualatin, Or.-Tualatin) led the Eagles on the vault recording a team best 9.750 good for second place, followed by senior Amanda Fuller (Hamilton, Ont.-St. Mary's) and sophomore Ashley Quinton (Calgary, AB Canada-Bishop Menally) who tied for third posting a 9.725.
Sophomore Taylor Patterson (Xenia, Ohio-Xenia) and Quinton had an impressive performance on the uneven parallel bars, recording a third place tie earning a 9.750, a career high for both. Senior Stacie Wood (Brantford, Ont.-Brantford Collegiate Institute) notched a 9.700 good for a seventh place finish.
Radermacher continued her stellar performance on the balance beam as top performer earning a career high 9.825. The Eagles dominated the Broncos on the beam posting a 48.375 to a WMU team score of 46.525. Freshman Paulina Miller (Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada-Citadel high School) finished right behind Radermacher, earning a 9.750, while Shawna Ciaramella (Hamilton, Ont.-St. Mary CSS) and Anna Willette (Pylesville, Md.-North Harford) tied for third, tallying a 9.650.
Radermacher completed her record setting performance on the floor exercise earning runner-up accolades recording a career high 9.775. Senior Kristen Yourick (Albuquerque, N.M.-La Cueva) recorded an eighth place finish posting a 9.675.
The Green and White head to Muncie, Ind. to take on the Cardinals of Ball State University. Competition will begin at 7 p.m.
