GREENSBORO, N.C. (EMUEagles.com) – Following a tough first round at the UNCG Bridgestone Golf Collegiate, the Eastern Michigan University men's golf team shaved five strokes off its score to remain in 13th place entering Sunday's final round of play. After an opening round 305, the Eagles shot a 300 in the afternoon.
Senior Spencer Slade (Saline, Mich.- Saline-Savannah State) is tied for 27th to lead Eastern Michigan, with a four-over par 148 (74-74).
No. 50 Chattanooga leads No. 47 Mississippi State by one stroke entering Sunday's final round. The Mocs are five-under after rounds of 289 and 282, with the Bulldogs at four-under. Iowa State stands third at two-under, while No. 28 Ole Miss is in fourth at eight-over. No. 42 Virginia Tech and NC State are tied for fifth at 10-over.
Mississippi State's Axel Boasson leads the field at eight-under-par following a second round 67. Chattanooga's Chris Robb stands second at 6-under, followed by Ole Miss' Blake Morris in third at four-under. Maryland's Sean Bosdosh and Virginia Tech's Scott Vincent are tied for fourth at three-under par.
The final 18 holes are set for a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday morning.
